Las Crónicas de Narnia: El Sobrino del Mago

Ya es hora de empezar a cumplir los propósitos de lectura de este 2016! y uno de ellos es releer la saga de las Crónicas de Narnia :D

Sinopsis

El sobrino del mago Narnia..., un lugar por el que deambulan Bestias Parlantes..., donde aguarda una bruja..., donde un nuevo mundo está a punto de nacer. Dos amigos, víctimas del poder de unos anillos mágicos, son arrojados a otro mundo en el que una malvada hechicera intenta convertirlos en sus esclavos. Pero entonces aparece Aslan y con su canción va hilando el tejido de un nuevo mando que recibirá el nombre de Narnia. Narnia, la tierra donde todo puede suceder.

 

Opinión Personal

Ésta es ya la segunda vez que leo este libro, no había tenido la oportunidad (o yo no me la había dado xD) de releer estos libros, lo cierto es que en su momento disfrute mucho con ellos, fue la primera saga que leí, y siendo siete libros, para mis 14 años, sin ser como soy ahora para leer, es bastante bueno.

Antes de empezar a hablar de que me pareció el libro ya ésta segunda vez que lo leí, tomemonos un momento para apreciar la bonita portada de éste libro, al obsevarla no podría pensar en otra portada mejor, los anillos, las pozas, el bosque, la persona, Aslan, todo representa perfectamente lo que es el libro; es por ello que me gusta más esta portada que la otra que he visto que es en donde aparece una manzana.

Yo no recordaba mucho de éste libro, y en general no recuerdo mucho de la saga, si me preguntan de los que más me recuerdo son de El León, la bruja y el ropero, El príncipe Caspian y La travesía del Viajero del Alba, pero por eso mismo decidí empezar a volver a leer estos libros.

Es necesario que aclare también, por qué empecé con este y no con El León, la bruja y el ropero, bueno, pues para los que no lo sepan (y si, hay quienes no lo saben) los libros fueron publicados en un orden, pero tienen un orden cronológico diferente, el cual es el siguiente por si les interesa:

1. El sobrino del mago
2. El León, la bruja y el ropero
3. El caballo y el muchacho
4. El príncipe Caspian
5. La travesía del Viajero del Alba 
6. La silla de plata
7. La última batalla

La primera vez que los leí lo hice en el orden de publicación y eso no afectó en nada, igual me gustaron todos los libros, pero ahora si pretendo leerlos en el orden que corresponde, dicho eso, podemos al fin pasar a que es lo que me pareció el libro.

Este libro lo empecé a las  5 pm y lo he terminado a las 10 pm, son libros que se  leen en prácticamente nada, y que no te aburren en ningún momento. Es una historia escrita para niños obviamente, pero eso no quita que alguien de cualquier edad pueda leerlos y disfrutar también de ellos.

La historia me gustó bastante por el hecho de que esta directamente relacionada con El León, la bruja y el ropero, y porque explica lo que es el origen de Narnia, no es una super explicación pero si está muy bien elaborada, es por eso que éste es el primer libro según el orden cronológico.

Cuando leía este libro tenia una sonrisa todo el tiempo en mi cara, o bueno, casi todo el tiempo, porque hay partes que te conmueven. Cabe destacar también el simbolismo que hay en la historia y que hace alusión al relato Bíblico de la Creación hecha por Dios.

En cuanto a los personajes, Digory y Polly son como dos polos opuestos, o al menos yo así lo sentí, porque Digory es arrebatado y a veces hace las cosas sin pensar en las consecuencias, en cambio Polly es mas prudente, pero ambos comparten una característica común su curiosidad de niños. Me cayó mejor Polly y odie al tío Andrés, es egoísta y ambicioso. 

El libro en lo personal me dejó también como una reflexión, a veces no vemos que los problemas terminen, pero la solución esta ahí y pronto va llegar, si tenemos paciencia y estamos dispuestos a seguir el camino que debemos seguir. No se si tendrá sentido para ustedes y si me di a entender, espero que si xD

Hurtled into the Wood between the Worlds, the children soon find that they can enter many worlds through the mysterious pools there. In one world they encounter the evil Queen Jadis, who wreaks havoc in the streets of London when she is accidentally brought back with them. When they finally manage to pull her out of London, unintentionally taking along Uncle Andrew and a coachman with his horse, they find themselves in what will come to be known as the land of Narnia.

Personal Opinion

This is the second time I read this book, I had not had the oportunity (or I had not given me the opportunity xD) of re read this series, the truth is that I enjoyed this books when I was 14 years old, it was the first series I read.

Before I talk about my thoughts of the book, let´s take a moment to apreciate this beautiful cover, I see it and I can´t think in a better cover, the rings, the pools, the woods, the man, Aslan, all that represents perfectly what the book is, that is the reason I like too much this cover.

I didn´t remember much about the story, in general I don´t remember much about this series; if you ask me about the books I remember most, those would be The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; but now that I´m going to re read this series I will remember all again :)

It is necessary explain to you why I started the series with this book and not with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, well, for those who don´t know (yes, some people don´t know it) the books were published by an order but, these books have a chronological order and it is different to the original order, that order is:

1. The Magician´s Nephew
2. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe
3. The Horse and His Boy
4. Prince Caspian
5. The Voyage of The Dawn Treader
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle

The first time I read these books I did it in the order of publication, and it didn´t affect anything, I enjoyed the series, this time I pretend to read them in the chronological order, having said that we can go to my thoughts about this book.

I started this book at 5 pm and I finished at 10 pm, these are books you read so fast, and you don´t get bored. This is obviusly a story for childrens but it doesn´t mean that any person can´t enjoy the book in the same way a child does.

I liked too much the story because it is directly related with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, and explain Narnia´s origin; it is not a super explanation but it is well done and because of that this is the first book in the chronological order.

When I was reading this book I had a smile on my face all the time, well, most of the time, because there are some parts that touch you. It should be noted the symbolism in this story, because it makes references to the Biblical story of creation made by God.

Concerning the characters, Digory and Polly are just like opposite poles, at least that was I felt. Digory is reckless and sometimes he does things without think about the consequences, and Polly is more careful, but both of them share a common characteristic, that is their child´s curiosity. I liked more Polly´s character and I hated uncle Andrew, he is selfish and ambitious.

The book left me thinking, sometimes problems don´t seem to have an end, but the solution is there and will come soon, but we have to be willing to have patience and to follow the way we have to go; I don´t know if it makes sense to you, I hope it does xD

Not everything in this life is happiness, Gillian Flynn and this book showed me that xD

Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

Personal Opinion

 

When I started this book I really wanted to read it and I had high expectations because everyone said that this book was cool and had many plot twists, that you end up stunned, all good things, but what happened? I don´t know, the book is well written, it´s noted that the author put much effort writing this story; but I don´t know, I think I was hoping too much and that didn´t let me enjoy the book as much as I wanted.

The plot of the book really draws your attention, and yes, there were some parts that  surprised me, especially finishing the first part and starting the second one, what comes after that not too much, even so I continued reading hoping to read a totally different ending to what I found; I end up a little angry and with the feeling of having been ripped off, I don´t know, I didn´t like that ending, in fact, I don´t like that kind of endings (those who have read the book will understand and those who haven´t will understand when you read the book).

I still believe that Gillian  Flynn is a great author, because she had the way to made me think some things about the characters but changed those thoughts throughout the book, and I think that is something difficult to achieve, but she did it.

I don´t have favorite character, Margo (Go) maybe, because she´s always supporting Nick, and I liked that. I symphatized with Nick toward the end of the book, because in the beginning I didn´t hate it but I didn´t like his character, and when I started to find out things I started to symphatize with Nick.

I felt the book slow in some parts, because the book is divided in 3 parts and especially the first part is a little slow, it is toward the end of this part that the things begin to get interesting, you want to read to know what is happening.

I don´t know what else can I say xD I feel like I´m saying nothing, but it is because I don´t want to make any spoiler, but I can tell you that it is a good book but I was expecting too much and that made me not enjoy the story as much as I thought I would. It is an interesting book, I´ve never read anything like this, but again, I didn´t like the ending and I think I won´t get over it for a while.

Please don´t judgme, It is just my humble opinion, I know there are many people who loved this book but it was a little disappointing for me.

 WARNING!! You shouldn´t read this book if you´re under 17 years old, at least, I think xD

Perdida

No todo es felicidad en esta vida, Gillian Flynn y este libro son la prueba exacta de ello xD

Sinopsis:

Gillian Flynn retrata el mundo claustrofóbico de un matrimonio que hace aguas. En un cálido día de verano Amy y Nick se disponen a celebrar su aniversario de bodas en Misouri. Como cada año, Nick espera hasta el último minuto para comprarle el regalo a Amy. No obstante, no va a hacer falta, puesto que Amy desaparece esa misma mañana sin dejar rastro. En el salón de su casa aparecen claras muestras de un forcejeo y la policía se pone a investigar de inmediato. Enseguida quedan desconcertados por la actitud de Nick: tan sereno que parece no importarle la desaparición de su mujer. Inevitablemente, pues, las sospechan recaen sobre él, pese a que mantiene su inocencia.

Opinión Personal

Empecé este libro con muchas ganas de leerlo y con expectativas bastante altas porque todo mundo decía que era genial, que tenia muchos giros de trama, que te sorprendía exageradamente, solo cosas buenas, pero que pasó? realmente no lo sé, el libro me pareció que si estaba muy bien escrito, la historia en serio se nota todo el empeño que puso la autora, pero no se, creo que esperaba demasiado y eso hizo que no me gustara tanto.

La premisa del libro llama bastante la atención y si, hubieron algunas partes en las que me quede totalmente sorprendido, especialmente terminando la primera parte del libro y al empezar la segunda, lo que siguió después no tanto y aun así lo continué esperando llegar a un final totalmente diferente a lo que me encontré, termine un poco enojado, con la sensación de haber sido estafado, no se, ese final no me gustó para nada, ese tipo de finales, de hecho, no me gustan para nada (los que ya lo leyeron puede que lo entiendan, y los que no, puede que cuando lo lean lo entenderán).

A pesar de todo sigo creyendo que Gillian Flynn es una genio, la forma en la que me hizo empezar el libro pensando ciertas cosas de los personajes y terminar pensando completamente distinto sobre ellos fue sorprendente, creo que es algo difícil de lograr, pero ella pudo hacerlo y es de aplaudirlo.

No tengo personaje favorito, Go tal vez?; porque siempre esta ahí apoyando a Nick, y eso me gusto bastante. Simpaticé más con Nick hacia el final del libro, porque en un principio no lo odiaba, pero tampoco me caía tan bien, pero conforme avanzó el libro termino cayéndome mejor, debido a ciertas circunstancias que no puedo mencionar porque sería spoiler.

El libro me pareció lento por momentos, porque el libro esta dividido en 3 partes, y la primera parte sobre todo es bastante lenta y ya hacia el final se pone un poco mas interesante, aun así si te dan ganas de seguir leyendo y de saber qué es lo que está pasando. 

Ya no sé ni que más decir, siento que no estoy diciendo nada, pero es que tengo miedo de soltar algún spoiler xD pero si es un libro bastante bueno, solo que me  esperaba demasiado y eso termino por perjudicarme, creo que vale la pena leerlo, es un libro bastante interesante, no había leído nada así, pero insisto, no me gustó ese final y no creo superarlo en un buen tiempo xD 

No me juzguen, es mi humilde opinión, sé que hay personas a las que les ha encantado, pero a mi me decepcionó un poco, por eso le di la calificación de 3.5 que ven abajo.

Advertencia!! este libro no deberían leerlo si tienen menos de  17 años,  por lo menos, creo xD

Books that I want to read on 2016 (Part 2)

This is the second and the last part of the books that I want to (and hope to) read this year, you can also check the Part 1.

1. A Darker Shade of Magic - V. E. Schwab

I don´t know much about this book, just that it is about traveling between parallel universes, actually I don´t want to know more about the book because I usually read books without knowing much about it and I end up amazed, I hope this book to be one of those cases. Besides this book had good reviews on Booktube.

2. The Ask and The Answer & Monsters of Men - Patrick Ness

Second and third book in the Chaos Walking trilogy, I read the first book (The Knife of Never Letting Go) and although I liked the book, it was slow in some parts and the language was hard to read. I want to know more about this story because people say that the 3rd book is the best and has one of the best endings.

3. Alive - Scott Sigler

 

I started reading this book but I don´t know why I couldn´t keep reading it, it is probably because I wanted to read another book (It usually happens), but the pages I had make me feel very interested in read this book, it has an atmosphere of mystery pretty similar to the one in The Maze Runner.

 4. Winter - Marissa Meyer

When I started to read these books I didn´t expect to like them, in fact, I read Cinder till the third attempt, now this is the last book in the series and I just hope this series to have the ending it deserves.

5. A Thousand Pieces of You - Claudia Gray

This is another book about parallel univereses, I know more or less about the plot and after reading the first chapter I hope to finally read it this year.

6. Ready Player One - Ernest Cline

I have a reason to haven´t read this book yet, it is because I read The Eye of Minds by James Dashner and after it disappointed me I was afraid I couldn´t enjoy this book. But a lot of time has passed and all the people love this book so I have to read it.

7. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series - Rick Riordan

 

Another series that people love but I haven´t read yet, I´ve tried two times but I could´t pass from the first chapters, I hope to finish at least the first book and If I read the whole series maybe I could read The Heroes of Olympus series.

8. Throne of Glass Series - Sarah J. Maas

I don´t know if I´ll be able to read all the published books until now, but I will try, this is a series I really want to read, because it´s very interesting and I totally enjoyed the first book

9. Feast of Crows & Dance with Dragons - George R. R. Martin

Both books have together almost 2,000 pages and currently I just have read 800, I hope to read more next vacations. (Brienne and Davos Chapters are boring and it always make me stop reading)

10. Magnus Chase and the gods of Asgard: The Sword of Summer - Rick Riordan

I don´t know yet if I´m going to read this one first or Percy Jackson, maybe I´m going to read this book on vacations, because it has more pages than Percy Jackson and I can´t read so much once I start classes at my univeristy.

Libros que quiero leer en 2016 (Parte 2)

Esta es la segunda parte de los libros que quiero (y espero) leer en este año, les dejo  también por aqui la Parte 1


1. A Darker Shade of Magic - V. E. Schwab

No se mucho de este libro, salvo que es sobre viajes entre universos paralelos, la verdad no quiero saber mucho, porque muchas veces suelo leer libros sin saber bien de que tratan y me termino sorprendiendo, espero este sea uno de esos casos. Además este libro ha sido muy bien recibido en la comunidad de Booktube (*Booktube: Comunidad en youtube dedicada a hablar sobre libros) en inglés.

2. The Ask and The Answer & Monsters of Men - Patrick Ness

Segundo y tercer libro de la trilogia Chaos Walking, ya me leí el primer libro (The Knife of Never Letting Go) y aunque me gustó, se me hizo un poco lento en varias partes y el inglés era un ingles rarisimo, aún asi quiero ver como sigue la historia porque dicen que el tercer libro es el mejor, incluso que es uno de los libros con mejor final de trilogia.

3. Alive - Scott Sigler

Este libro lo empecé pero lo abandone, aún no se por qué, probablemente haya sido para leer otro libro (suele ocurrir), pero con lo que habia leído me pareció interesante, tiene misterio al estilo de El Corredor del Laberinto, como dijo una vez alguien, y concuerdo con esa persona.

4. Winter - Marissa Meyer

Cuando empecé estos libros pensé que no me iban a gustar, de hecho Cinder lo termine de leer hasta la segunda vez que lo intente, ahora que solo me falta éste último libro por leer espero que la historia tenga el final que se merece.

5. Mil Lugares Donde Encontrarte - Claudia Gray

Otro libro sobre universos paralelos, sé más o menos sobre lo que trata el libro, y leí el primer capitulo, espero al fin este año ponerlo en mis libros leídos.

6. Ready Player One - Ernest Cline

Para este libro si tengo una razón para haberlo abandonado, o más o menos xD lo dejé porque acababa de leer El Juego Infinito, la otra trilogia escrita por James Dashner y después de esa decepción tenia miedo de que este libro tampoco me gustara. Pero ya ha pasado mucho tiempo y toodo el mundo ama este libro asi que debo leerlo.

7. Saga Percy Jackson y los dioses del Olimpo - Rick Riordan

Otra saga que todo el mundo ama, pero yo no he podido leer, he intentado 2 veces pasar de los primeros capitulos de Percy Jackson y El ladrón del rayo, pero simplemente no pude, espero ya este año poder terminarlo y si se puede terminar con la saga para continuar con Percy Jackson y los Heroes del Olimpo.

8. Saga Trono de Cristal - Sarah J. Maas

No se si voy a poder leer todos los libros que están publicados hasta ahorita, pero lo voy a intentar, es una saga que me llama bastante la atención  y el primer libro me gusto bastante.

9. Festín de Cuervos y Danza de Dragones - George R. R. Martin

Juntos tienen como unas 2,000 páginas y actualmente llevo como unas 800, espero aprovechar a avanzar cuando tenga vacaciones de nuevo (los capítulos de Brienne y Davos me aburren y eso me detiene siempre)

10. Magnus Chase y los dioses de Asgard: La espada del tiempo - Rick Riordan

Aún no estoy seguro si leer primero este libro o Percy Jackson, probablemente este libro lo lea en vacacones también, porque es mas extenso que Percy Jackson y en periodo de clases no puedo leer mucho (de hecho, no leo casi nada).

Estos son solo algunos de los libros que quiero leer este año, son algo asi como mi prioridad; aún asi puede que algunos de ellos no los lea este año. Ustedes que libros tienen mayor deseo de leer?

Libros que quiero leer en 2016 (Parte 1)

Me he dado cuenta que varios de los libros que quiero leer se publican este año y al mismo tiempo tengo por leer varios libros que ya tenia desde hace bastante tiempo, entonces pensé en hacer una lista de algunos de los libros que quiero (y espero) leer en este año 2016, aquí estan:

1. Morning Star - Pierce Brown

No hay mucho que pueda decir de este libro, porque es el último libro de una trílogia, pero son libros que me han gustado bastante y sobre todo el segundo me dejo bastante sorprendido con ese final. La trilogia se compone de Amanecer Rojo, Hijo Dorado y Morning Star (Estrella de la Mañana),  puede que se sientan un poco lentos pero al menos en mi caso, me gustó bastante la historia que Pierce Brown ha creado. Dato importante, los dos primeros libros fueron parte de mis mejores lecturas del 2015.

2. The Last Star - Rick Yancey 

La misma historia que el anterior, este es el último libro de una trilogía, que se compone de La Quinta Ola, el Mar Infinito y The Last Star (La ultima estrella probablemente sea el titulo que le pongan en español), y tratan sobre aliens, no habia leido nada de eso pero me gustó bastante la idea, no puedo esperar para saber como va terminar esta trilogia, además ya en unos dias se estrena la película de La Quinta Ola, asi que, si no lo han leído aun, deberían, aún están a tiempo.

 3. Steelheart & Firefight - Brandon Sanderson

Llevo bastante tiempo intentando leer estos libros y de verdad me interesa leerlos, pero por alguna razón que desconozco, no he podido, Steelheart lo tengo a medias y espero retomarlo este año, probablemente vuelva a empezarlo, asi llevo todo mas fresco por si leo inmediatamente el segundo libro Firefight; a varias personas parecen haberles gustado estos libros, bueno al menos Steelheart; asi que espero terminar también siendo parte de los que les ha gustado este libro.

4. Guerra Civil - Stuart Moore

Este libro lo encontre sin andarlo buscando, pero ya que este año se estrena la película, me llamó la atención y pensé que sería buena idea leerlo, a parte de que me llama la atención la idea de cómics que pasan a ser libros, como el de La Viuda Negra, que leí recien empezado el año. Este libro está dentro de los que intentaré leer ya pronto.

5. Perdida - Gillian Flynn

Este libro ya lo empecé y me falta poco para terminar, desde ya creo que va ser uno de mis favoritos de este año, o eso espero, aun me quedan unas cuantas  páginas por leer y tengo que decirlo estoy hecho un revoltijo en mi cabeza con este libro, todo lo que pensaba esta siendo cambiado constantemente. 6. La Espada de Cristal - Victoria Aveyard

Otro libro que también ya empecé y lo tengo a medias, porque a pesar que lo estaba disfrutando, sentia que no avanzaba y me desespere, razón por la cual empece el libro que ven arriba de este xD pero al solo terminar con ese espero retomar este y terminarlo, porque La Reina Roja fue un libro que me gusto bastante y que se ha convertido en uno de mis libros favoritos.

7. Crónicas de las Tierras Bajas - Suzanne Collins

Para nadie es un secreto que Los Juegos del Hambre fueron tooodo un éxito, se convirtió en los libros favoritos de muchos, a algunos los ayudo a entrar en este mundo de la lectura, como en mi caso, y por ello siempre voy a guardar un especial cariño a esa trilogia. Volviendo al tema, esta saga fue escrita antes que Los Juegos del Hambre, y quiero leer más de Suzanne Collins, espero que me gusten mucho, solo sé que es de este niño, que con su hermana un dia caen por un ¿agujero? y llegan a un lugar bajo tierra, al estilo de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas, a eso me suena.

8. Las Crónicas de Narnia - C. S. Lewis

Estos libros los leí cuando tenía como 14 años, recuerdo que me leí sin parar la saga completa y me gustó bastante, quiero releerlo para ver que me parecen ahora que ya he crecido.

9. Trilogia La Prueba - Joelle Charbonneau 

Estos libros los leí porque decian que si te había gustado Los Juegos del Hambre te iban a gustar estos libros, y si me gustó y si tiene unos parecidos con Los Juegos del Hambre, pero tampoco son la misma cosa; esta trilogía se basa en una sociedad en la que solo unos cuantos pueden ir a la Universidad, los mejores, y para ello tienen que someterse antes a La Prueba, un proceso que los que ya pasaron por ella y estudiaron en la Universidad no recuerdan muy  bien, ¿qué pasa dentro de La Prueba?.

10. Trilogia La Ascención - Jennifer A. Nielsen

Estos libros los leí el año pasado sin saber que me iban a gustar mucho, hay un montón de giros de trama y solo puedo decir que los disfrute demasiado, sobre todo el segundo y tercero, que estuvieron mas llenos de acción, estos libros no podian faltar en mi lista de mis mejores lecturas del año pasado. Para que sepan un poco de que va, en el primer libro un tipo esta reclutando huerfanos que cumplan con ciertas características que le permitan hacerse pasar por el principe desaparecido, solo uno de estos huerfanos podrá desempeñar dicha tarea,  los demás no tendran un futuro claro. Yo los leí en inglés, y creo que no están en español pero no tienen un inglés muy complicado, vale la pena darle una oportunidad a esta trilogía.
